S.Y.STEM Coalition was founded by a young engineer who was volunteering at a local food bank. She interacted with a lot of young kids and realized that if she could spark the interest in STEM in just one child, it could lift an entire family out of poverty.

We started out as a six-person team in someone’s kitchen on Saturday mornings. Since our founding, we have grown to serve not just Tucson, AZ, but Pittsburgh, PA, and Los Angeles, CA as well. We are a geographically distributed organization, which allows us to tap into resources all across the country and even internationally.

We are a 501(c)3 who empowers youth in STEM through partnership with industry. Created and run by STEM professionals, S.Y.STEM Coalition makes science and engineering accessible and fun for kids.

K-12 students of all backgrounds. Our programs are specially designed with one goal in mind: empowering the next generation STEM workforce!

​All students deserve the opportunity to thrive in the wonderful world of STEM. We handcraft educational, free, and low-cost STEM events and programs for students and their families to attend within their community.

​S.Y.STEM Coalition works year-round, so students can find our events during the school year or during their summer break!

​We started in Tucson, AZ and have expanded to two other cities: Pittsburgh, PA and Los Angeles, CA. We partner with schools, parents, businesses, and community spaces to offer a wide array of programming at little to no cost.
